Be your inner fox with Glossy Box!

SONY DSCGlossy Box is an innovative after care product using completely natural ingredients to combat inflammation, redness and ingrown hair associated with waxing and shaving. This rich cream dries to a powder like finish to not only protect you from unwanted irritation, but to also provide an anti-chaffing barrier to keep you dry and fresh. The scent is reminiscent of fresh cucumber and Tahitian gardenia

Cucumber oil:  The oil itself is rich in linoleic, or omega-6, fatty acids, as well as vitamins B1 and C, tocopherols, and phytopherols. These nutrients, both collectively and individually, are believed to be effective for detoxifying the skin, retaining moisture, preventing aging, and deep cleansing pores. Since the acids found in cucumber oil also have anti-inflammatory properties, when applied topically, cucumber oil can help reduce the inflammation caused by those skin ailments and others.

Monoi oil:  Monoi is an indulgent fragrant concoction made by steeping Tiare flowers, a variety of gardenia indigenous to French Polynesia, in locally sourced coconut oil. The flowers contain high levels of methyl salicylate, known for its purifying and anti-inflammatory qualities (it’s related to salicylic acid, from which aspirin and many acne treatments are derived), and during the typically 15-day maceration, those active properties are transferred to the oil. The salicylate will naturally exfoliate the top layer of skin, helping to keep ingrown at bay.

Hazelnut has been called the pore-reducing oil and acne-fighting oil because of its unique properties. A high content of catechins and tannins (healthy flavonoids) make this oil a dry or astringent oil that feels smooth and toning on the skin. The astringent properties help absorb oils and shrink pores, while the antibacterial components go to work battling skin bacteria to help reduce blocked pores and keep ingrown hairs from infection.

Coconut oil: Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids such as capric acid, caprylic acid and lauric acid. The fatty acids have disinfectant and anti-microbial properties, perfect ingredient to avoid infections after waxing. Coconut oil is high in vitamin E, which is known for its skin healing properties. The triglycerides in coconut oil help to keep moisture from escaping from the skin, which aids in retaining softness and suppleness

MMMMMM….Chocolate for Beauty

You have probably already heard how good Raw, organic chocolate is for your skin, but have you read why exactly?

Dark chocolate and cocoa powder are rich in antioxidants and have more of these natural compounds than green tea, red wine, and blueberries. Because antioxidants in cacao defend against these free radicals, they might be able to keep off lines, wrinkles and skin discoloration. Cocoa powder is high in antioxidant flavenols, which are found in red grapes and tea, noted for their antioxidant components.

So what’s a free radical?
An unstable molecule that hijack  electrons from nearby stable molecules. As a result, the pre-stable molecules turn into free radicals, and a chain reaction perpetrates. They can cause wrinkles, elasticity loss, and skin damage.

This is how antioxidents fight off free radicals:

Antioxidants help by donating one of their own electrons. This donation neutralizes the unhealthy chain reaction of free radicals. After donating an electron, antioxidants don’t become free radicals but Instead, they remain stable and unaffected. Canceling out the pending damage.

All of this sounds incredible right? Now, let’s remember, we are not talking about processed chocolate – to receive the full benefits of what raw chocolate can do, it should be in an unprocessed state.

Lyck has two delicious bodyscrubs that contain this wonder ingredient
